Hi My wife's visa and EAD is expiring in Jan 2022 and we have just filed a request for extension last month. She is working currently but the processing times for EAD seem to be a year so we are worried that she will be out of job post Jan because of EAD processing delays. Is there a way we can file in premium or do something to get the EAD approval in time? Need suggestions #workvisa #ead #l2 #l1 Thanks TC 170K
Exact same boat last year- jan2021 expiration and applied for extension in aug 2020. She got her h4 ead in July 2021
Currently there are massive delays. Can try asking congressman / USCIS to expedite but bar is extremely high (her current company basically needs to go bankrupt if she’s not there). Would suggest trying to see if any other visa she is eligible for / can apply for (o1, f1, h1b, etc)
Seriously? This immigration is shit
Sorry - no option. Welcome to the party. There are 100s of others who have lost job because of the delays. Most of them in H4 and a few in L2.
Checkout latest USCIS latest auto180 day extension. You got super lucky.
There is no option but to wait it out
Does seem right :(
