Managing director at 10 yoe !! What line of business ? Did you mean executive director instead ?

Honeywell ekSD23 OP Oct 4, 2021

No, Managing Director, Product Management

This is highly suspicious lol This person would need to be an absolute ROCKSTAR with incredible luck to be able to be interviewed for an MD role at JP with that YOE

When I worked there (2015ish) my MD’s salary was around $450K. This was in Dallas, though. I imagine compensation varies wildly depending on line of business.

Honeywell ekSD23 OP Oct 4, 2021

Oh cool, the position is remote and I am based in Seattle.

JPMorgan Chase dataman112 Oct 4, 2021

Jesus Christ how are you making md at 10 yoe?

Honeywell ekSD23 OP Oct 4, 2021

I am currently at Director of Product at a tech company, JPMC reached out to me for this position. I was a little surprised too but they mentioned that they liked my previous experience in product management.

JPMorgan Chase dataman112 Oct 4, 2021

Take it if you are able to get it. Md is the highest title at jpmc. You will most likely be the youngest md in your part of the company. Average age is 40-45

Back office roles 600ish TC. Front office tech 1m+. Honestly there's so much variation it's really hard to put any firm numbers.

what’s the difference between front and back offices?

Financial Services Company rudygha Oct 4, 2021

Front office directly generates revenue e.g markets, M&A, Wealth Management. Back office Operations, Tech etc. not client facing and not generating revenue.

JPMorgan Chase icdeadplp Oct 5, 2021

What I know - MCOL, 225 base + 50% - 100% bonus. CCB back office I would assume it’s similar to Tech in similar COL/roles

JPMorgan Chase selected_1 Oct 12, 2021

This looks low from what I know of MD pay. This looks more like ED comp

JPMorgan Chase icdeadplp Oct 13, 2021

Oh really? I mean this is CCB in areas like TX OH DE IL states. What I see for ED levels is much lower like 180 + 25% bonus

JPMorgan Chase DaimeJimon Oct 7, 2021

MD is on avg in the 500k. Depends a lot in your line of business, and the PnL that you manage (aka budget). If it is in seattle i would assume is cloud or cyber oriented, so it is def avg or above that number. If you share more details i can help. Also be aware that JPMC is cash heavy, so prob your comp will be 50% base 30% cash 20% stocks.

Honeywell ekSD23 OP Oct 8, 2021

If it’s $500K it won’t be that big of a jump in salary despite significant jump in title.

What comparable role for back office MD in FAANGs in terms of TCs? Director? How many MDs are in JP Morgan? a few thousand?

JPMorgan Chase jamieeee Oct 7, 2021

You’re getting an interview for an MD role with only 10 YoE? Lol

JPMorgan Chase benchod Jan 29, 2022
