I am in discussion with both for their startegy and operations team. Final round of discussion still pending. Any thoughts on these two from the community? How should I evaluate one over the other ? #crypto #binance #coinbase
Binance may have a better long term strategy imo. They built a DEX that has some pretty compelling value props. Still early days, who knows how things will shake out. Personally I don’t get the appeal of Coinbase besides their UI
Would u think too much about the regulatory troubles with binance ? Or is it similar to Uber Vs lyft where Uber expanded faster compared to the more 'compliant' Lyft?
From my POV, if Binance successfully transitions to their DEX (already live but still early days) that could alleviate a big chunk of their regulatory concern since they would no longer act as custodians. Coinbase on the other hand will be bogged down trying to keep regulators happy, and having to comply with a myriad of laws since they are custodial.. unless they’re planning a copycat DEX It’s possible regulators go after Binance DEX though, or it flops. I’m not aware any existential regulatory problems for Binance at the moment. Their biggest issue seems to have been in the US but now they have BinanceUS (fully compliant).

Still liking it over at CB?
You need to say more if you want to get a better advice. Like - Where is the role based? - How senior role? - Your background? - Who will you report to? Team goals 30-180-360 days Without any that info, Coinbase has a clear edge in US. You will also get into a company in pre-IPO stage "Coinbase".
I know this is not what you asked, but I guess I'll give my 2 satoshi 😋 Depending on what's your goal is, maybe neither? Personally I'm not so much into burning my eyes looking at every ups and downs of crypto market, since I was looking for stable way to invest long term, I came across the new hype in DeFi.. and a couple of exchanges in this space caught my eye, BlockFi and Crypto.com BlockFi has great ROI, and crypto.com seems to be at whole different level, not only they "store big fraction of the money in cold storage" so it's safe from hacks I guess, but also have an option to sign up for visa powered credit card, which allows you to use your money in real world with eye catching benefits. Honestly, I invested after reading reviews on reddit and YT.. if you decide to give it a go, kindly use my referral https://blockfi.com/?ref=3509a71f Use my referral link https://crypto.com/app/me8n4vhe76 to sign up for Crypto.com and we both get $50 USD :)
BlockFi is okay it’s only ~8% apy and it’s not DeFi. You can earn way higher apy in DeFi right now

What would the TC look like at each? Would Binance give you x amount of BNB as additional incentive? Would you have access to pre-listings if legal?
Not sure of the TC yet since the process is not through yet. I have heard a lot of -ve stories about binance and that it's more of a scam. Not sure of what to think of the company . Looking to hear from some one on the inside at binance
That would be good. Exchanges in crypto are a necessary evil now forsure, but DEXs still have a long while until they are mass adopted and weed out exchanges (ae. Uniswap). Coinbase is more regulated than mostly any other exchange, and yes I’ve heard Binance is a bit of a gray area. As long as you’re in the know it should be fine
