What are some of the keys reason for Lacework’s downfall. From growing 300% to sluggish growth, missing internal revenue targets. Two massive layoffs within a period of 18 months. Product filled with bugs. Competitors such Wiz and Orca seems to doing relatively well so far. #startups #cybersecurity #growth #layoffs
They won't hire me which is their problem
What’s wrong with CrowdStrike?
Why would you intent to join an org which keeps having massive layoffs. I am sure crowdstrike is much stable
Poor product experience, they have too many feature gaps and that’s massively impacting adoption. Used the product for many months and I really do not want to go back now that I get to work on something else :)
There isn't room for a 4th competitor in that market. Palo (red lock/twist lock) Wiz, and Orca. Then you have the native cloud platforms. Lacework was late to the party and ran into high interest rates. Palo is already in the environment and can bundle prisma. Wiz would undercut the shit out of everyone two years ago. Yinon is probably one of the best product guys out there. Great marketing department. Orca has arguably one of the best set of founders for the space and engineering teams deliver great tech with mediocre UX. Lacework... missed the boat for real market capture. Nobody talks about Lacework. Ok founder, ok CEO, ok product. Feature parity is missing to big three and there's unrealistic GTM. Even still, you could have the best product but who wants to replace their CWPP? Nobody. Diminishing returns.
The product isn't very useful. Seriously, it isn't. It's not so much missing features they should have, even if they plugged in another 20 features it honestly wouldn't be THAT compelling.
Their director of product who I spoke to in an interview seemed awful .
Which one?
Because the competition has been eating them as an evening snack.
Overly aggressive sales tactics sure didn’t help. It’s impossible to get those people to leave you alone.
