Hi Blind. I bought a house and really stretched my budget 5 months ago. A little bit after I was let go by Adobe. The issue is, I can’t find a job for the life of me. The job market is brutal. I used almost all of my savings (left 6 months runway on the mortgage in my bank) to buy my house. Now those funds are pretty much all gone and next month I won’t be able to make my payment. I would sell my house but I bid so high over asking that I wouldn’t be able to make any money on the sale, basically I’m underwater on the mortgage. What do I do???#mortgage #housing
Leet code
I’ve tried no one will hire me. I have 2 yoe
2 yoe and a house? WTF
The housing market is pretty strong now, just sell it for whatever you can get and move on
I bid 230k over asking when I bought it. I really messed up
Lol, you serious? How desperate were you? Haven't seen this even in bay area.
Rent it out.
It won’t even get close to the mortgage
Rent out 1-2 rooms for bachelora
Just tell your bank you’re squatting in it. Apparently they just let you stay and keep the house now.
Oh hmm this might be an interesting suggestion, maybe invite a friend as the primary squatter, and OP can tag along as the ghost squatter?
Squatting only works if the renters do it, not the owners lmao. So one suggestion would be to rent it to your friend or family (close ones obviously), put them on lease, and let them squat
Try renting out individual rooms in the meanwhile till you figure stuff out. I'm assuming you might have some stocks. You could sell a few.
This is absolutely the best move right now. You can easily find tenants.
Settle for consulting gig and keep interviewing
You can make a deal with the bank. Find a realtor who has dealt with underwater homes.
Remember that folks graduate college with debt. You aren't at your bottom. You do need to make radical changes, but this is your next chapter. It's a wake up call but in the grand scheme it will feel like a bump
i hope you are not on a visa OP
Just aim to break even.
How?
By selling it?
