Unfortunately my first post on Blind is about my layoff at Intel yesterday. I am a recent Computer Science graduate and had been working for Intel as a Software Developer for just more than a year now. I’m currently on my H1B and I’m looking for any roles that are SDE 1 or SDE 2. Please help me out if anyone knows about any potential roles available in the market or with a referral. Any recommendations are much appreciated. #layoff #google #microsoft #amazon #apple #goldmansachs #oracle #meta #facebook #visa #paypal #google #jpmorgan #jpmorganchase #vanguard #cisco #uber #samsung #twilio #tmobile #qualcomm #amd #nvdia #snapchat #nike #adobe #docusign
Didn't they kept you on payroll for some time before letting you go ?How are the chances of securing job internally ?
They’re moving people into CPM plan, Corporate people movement I guess - where they are given like 2 months of time to find a job internally. Else it’s a goodbye. I always doubt such approaches because if you’re laying off large number of employees, the internal competition itself is high
So you have total 4 months of time right ? Additional two months are from grace time of h1b
Do you have any idea about PIP or CAP Plan culture at Intel ?
Usually there is no PIP culture at Intel. I currently work as a System Software Development Engineer to be more specific a Chrome Integration Engineer. Please reach to me if you are aware if any openings in that domain area as well. Thank you :)
Was it the big Intel layoff? How many affected?
It is a very big layoff. They are doing it slowly so the numbers don’t come out.

I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I could help but we have a hiring freeze. Have they announced any severance package? If so, what's that?
One month pay is the severance package.
Thats cruel
