Laptop for education

Hey all. Looking to buy a new laptop for home. Also planning to go for MS in CS so the laptop would be used for proj work apart from browsing internet, movies and porn. I am comfortable with both mac os and windows. Sticking to 13inch screen size. Budget is $1800 YOE: 10 TC: 140k

Buy a kickass laptop from system76 with crazy battery and amazing specs for way under your budget. Install windows if you want. Otherwise buy a used Dell. I'm on a 5 years old Dell with 16gb ram and dedicated graphic. Bought at 400$ and replaced battery for 70$. Runs amazing, I do also some gaming, I even have the 4k screen that I don't care about but my gf says the colors are amazing (she's a designer)

Just buy a cheap windows laptop. The things you are buying for don’t justify 1800. Maybe 800 if you’re pushing it would be more than fine for coursework.
