Last Internship. Coinbase vs Pinterest

Interested in your opinions on what I should take for my final intership for May 2021. Both are remote. Coinbase pays $50/hour. Pinterest pays $9500 per month + $10000 signing bonus. For the possible return offers, Coinbase has a NYC office and the option to be fully remote. Pinterest seems to pay higher, but does not support remote work and does not have a NYC office (and I truly love NYC). Also, Coinbase pay for new grads may increase with the recent IPO. With a return offer being the endgoal, what would you all choose? #coinbase #pinterest #software

Pinterest is probably a safer bet given Coinbase is likely to be public by the time you join. If it were new grad, I’d recommend Coinbase.

If you would recommend Coinbase for a fresh grad , then why not Coinbase for internship as well?

I’d recommend pre-IPO equity rather than $PINS

Since you want NYC, you really only have 1 option?

If you ever get advice from a mentor telling you to maximize for Total Comp as an Intern in your early 20’s...find a new memtor. Do what makes you happy. You’re clearly going to make a lot of money if you have these opportunities already in your career

If you want to do ML, data or infrastructure, go with PINS
