hey all. I recently saw an opportunity to take a Launch Code course to become a software engineer for Microsoft. It seems extremely interesting, however, I would have to essentially quit my full time job to take the 17 week course. There is also a good chance you'll be hired on by Microsoft following completion of the course. Has anyone done this before? Was it effective and worth it? I currently make $92k as an intel analyst. Would this career as a software engineer afford me more room to grow professionally and salary-wise? Thanks! Based out of thr DC/MD/VA area if that matters
Is this the apprenti program or something ?
Essentially yes. https://www.launchcode.org/training/ft-meade-codecamp-spring-2020
Ok.. yh i knw 1 person who came to my team via apprenti as an fte
I imagine this is for cleared work then? Ts Sci w/fsp?
Correct. They don't specify the type of poly but it's safe to assume either fsp or CI (https://www.launchcode.org/training/ft-meade-codecamp-spring-2020)
So this is only for veterans. General population can’t apply?
As far as I know, yes. Transitioning military and veterans
Are they based in DC? I saw they were in Florida
The course will be in Hanover, MD
