Layoff fear Goldman sachs
Tc 140k +20k Dallas I joined goldman last year as an associate.I tried my level best for the year but i am scared i will be laid off .My review was fine as well.It was not outstanding but performing . There is just this immense pressure that i have to improve and be more senior for my role. I am on vacation right now but i still see emails on why such a long vacation ,etc and all i can think of is will they fire me? Should i fear of a layoff?What are the hints that usually happen in the case of a layoff? or Am i just over thinking? #layoffs #fear #goldmansachs #txb

What a horrible manager
They're asking you why your vacation is so long?
Yes they want me to take only 2 weeks and i had to extend 3 days because of a medical emergency..and i just saw an email from my manager to be more aware and not take any more than 2 weeks of vacations
During my first week in 2018, my manager recommended to take only upto 2 consecutive weeks of planned vacation at a time for availability/coverage reasons. That might be some soft guideline at GS. 🤷♂️ Did you extend a planned holiday period yourself without verbally informing manager? Just make sure that manager is aware that it is because of medical emergency.
