I wanted to keep this quiet for obvious reasons but I feel that it must be disclosed given the lack of respect, compassion and honesty Goldman Sachs has for their employees. In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, two VPs who had their maternity/paternity during the same year were fired from the firm, both of them worked in the same sub-team within the same division. Taking their paternity leave may not have been the reason they were fired. Yet, what is one to conclude of two VPs in the same team getting fired at the same time after they had come back from their paternity leave during the same year and fired consequently during a pandemic? This while GS revenues were better than ever and even more painful to watch given the firm had had said that no layoffs were going to happen in 2020. I find it hard to believe that the cost savings the firm saved by firing these two people were bigger than the morale and optics of such event, specially during such rough times and in the middle of a economic/health crisis. Management at this bank lacks basic human ethics, honesty and compassion for their fellow human beings. #Thinkbeyondrevenue #finance #goldmansachs #jpmorgan #chase #blackrock #stockmarket #wellsfargo #morganstanley #bankofamerica
“Think beyond revenue?” You might be in the wrong industry, my friend.
Apologies for trying to think a company/industry can improve itself and go beyond the bottom line, specially given all the hype they put out saying how ethical and well they care of their employees.
"care for their employees"? I'm gonna die laughing...no one with half a brain believes that. I suspect all the banks and big corps get together at some uber luxurious location to copy each other's bull shits and spew them afterwards like it was their true motto
One could conclude that said team isn't as crucial as you think it is. It's not like they were fired during leave
I worked for a company that let a guy go while he was on paternity leave. He was an outstanding engineer. He found employment quickly but it always bugged me that was done to him.
Company can fire ppl when they are on paternity leave???
Your man thinks because he DJ’s, he can get away with anything. Poor Blankfein used to get such crap from the media all the time but they’ve gone soft on GS recently.

Yes what team? Marcus? Is Goldman good to work at by the way?! At least the technology side?!
No way
Not at all
This kind of stuff is not out of the norm. You are shocked because It’s first time you noticed.
How is the work culture at SG Blore ofc? Heard it is relaxed AF! Could be because of being an European and that too French company at that.
Saw the same at BNPP. Same sub team. Guy got fired 2 months after coming back from paternity. Woman was told not to come back from maternity.
That 2nd one is so illegal.
Not sure what happened there. Maybe she got a nice package to leave (or not come back).
In my opinion Goldman Sachs is the worst company to work for. They don’t care about their employees

I know people that took maternity/paternity and are still there. Think it may be team based.
