It started with the green-badges (contractors) 2 months ago and despite being told numerous times "all blue badges are safe, don't worry" the writing is on the wall. After earnings fell short Thursday, an abysmal 20% drop in stock price (bad news for those of us that are RSU-heavy) and Jassy announcing that Amazon's holiday season will be below average, it's no surprise that late-night meeting invites went out last night by TA Steam Leaders for a Monday meeting (anyone who knows Amazon knows that meetings don't just get scheduled for the all-up on the next business day.) Meanwhile Jassy is now being probed for violating labor laws, yet another lawsuit which will have a huge financial drain. With the meeting being held on the 31st, it will be interesting to see if whatever changes/RIF's/comp freezes are being announced, if they will be effective immediately to save from running into November and another month of benefits overhead.
Companies across big tech are cutting cost. Why would Amazon need to retain all recruiters when 2023 is expected to be slow?
Moron, it was 20% after market which is meaningless. Closed at 6.8% down, which is significant but not doomsday.
That’s such a bad take. After hours impacts opening stock. If you want to buy my stock at 15% off rn I’ll wire you you at market open.
Oumw46- I’d recommend taking Finance 101 somewhere.
Meeting on Halloween?? spooky. 👻 🎃
Over thinkers at Amazon. Dude calm down
Soooo… any updates? What happened at the meeting today?
Whats the update?
And there you have it!!! Voluntary Release Program just announced. All ye of little faith! I love how Amazon is trying to shine this turd "not all applications will be accepted" YEAH RIGHT! But hey, if you're on PIP or Focus, you should absolutely take it because there will more to come, this is just the 1st wave.
