Just got the news on wral.com of people getting sacked om friday mostly in the IBMs Truven health division. Insane!!! Read the article. Makes no sense.
IBM is a cancer. Their entire analytics/Watson group is a sinking ship. Somehow they still have some talented Spark folks but I can’t imagine it’ll remain that way.
Management is either infighting or complacent. It's a toxic business environment.
I was included in this layoff, took about a week to get a better offer from another company. Tommorow is my last day, happy day indeed.
Its hard to go through a phase like that. Congratulations and All the best for you new job!!
Good luck on your new job. Do you recommend buying Big Blue and holding on to its stock for long run or they're goners in the cloud /hybrid (post-enterprise) era ?
Watson Health is dead because it doesn't work. That's why the Truven layoffs.

Peaceful Protest Hasn’t Worked and Has Been Met With Aggression.
Why was IBM promoting that its cloud made more run rate last 4 quarters than AWS ? Honestly I feel bad for IBMers but looks like IBM is headed the Dell/HP way or might stagnate like ORCL in the cloud era.
