All the Amazon layoff posts I see are from this division. So, other orgs are safe from layoff? #amazon
Maybe in January after christmas
No not safe. I hear more to come in OP1. In our team, the service from our competitive team had more items that were prioritized in OP1 leadership meeting so I am expecting reduction in our team. We already got re-orged recently. Your manager should have discussed already for OP1, ask them or even press them hard in your next 1:1. You cannot change anything but be prepared or plan in advance.
How about device security team?
Coming in HR side as well. Heard that DLS org employees given until Dec 23 to opt in severance option. If not sufficient number, likely layoffs right after.
Biggest org AWS seems untouched, they’re still hiring
What are the recruiters doing in my LinkedIn DMs 🤣
It's only Wednesday. I wouldn't breathe easy til at least EOD Friday. Even then I'd assume more layoffs to come in the near future, and keep assuming that until the company is off hiring freeze and the stock price is rising again. I wouldn't rest easy regardless of which org you're in, even AWS. Now would be a good time to start maximizing your liquid savings.
Is it 20000 layoffs
