Leaving Cisco for a pre IPO startup VS GC in next 6 months
Hi guys, I am planning to quit Cisco to join netskope in next few weeks but my GC status is I have a pending AOS in EB3. My PD is Sep 2013. I am one of the downgraded case in OCT 2020. Now the EB 2 date is advancing so fast and currently it is in Jan 2013. Most likely I will get current in next 2 months. I might hopefully get a GC if I stay in Cisco for rest of the year. Note the “Might”. Whereas Netskope might get to IPO by the same time. Again note the “Might”. What do you think you would do if this is the case? TC: 200k in netskope YOE: 10years

I would wait 2 months, inter file and then move out after 183 days after inter filing. P.S. I have a similar situation but my date is further out.

And Cisco is paying less than $200k for 10 yoe 😩? I would wait it out though and jump after getting GC
Why Netskope? Stay with cisco. Get your GC first. Netskope inside info is that they are going in multiple directions. So you may want to do your due diligence.

I thought you can easily move if your 485 is pending for 180 days. What happened to that rule?
That still is true. It is applicable for EB3. But dates are moving ahead for EB2
Why does that matter? You can interfile after switching jobs. I know many people who did and now plan to switch back to EB2 with new employer.
Will you be still on EAD, If you join netskope? How much money will you lose at different price points? What's your net worth? I'm on H1B and can tell you that the first million $ after the IPO really changed my life.
I would strongly encourage to stay. September 2013 is within this year... So I would just wait.. This year there are 290k numbers available. Starting next year, that will be 140k. I am in the same boat BTW.. Been in this country for 15 years and want to be done with this
Don’t you think we can run with EAD? My rational is, even after all this is over, the date will stick into 2013 for good. So I can get it delayed by 2 years which looks to be a fair compromise.
Where do you get this number as 290k?
