It is impossible to a find a internal job in the Goog NYC office. Life in Sunnyvale offices is boring and dull, and it’s not like I’m being paid OpenAI salaries or have Meta career growth to compensate for this misery. At least Nvidia employees can wipe their tears away with $100 bills and thank their stars even though they work in Santa Clara. What is the best next step? I see H1B applicants disappointed about having to leave USA but as an H1B myself I can’t even be happy in life smh.
You seem to be the problem rather than the city
Nah Sunnyvale sucks
It's not all about the money. If you are a slave to the dollar your whole life, you will miss out on things that you will certainly regret later. I have not always made good pay, but I have enjoyed the work and accomplishments at most of the places I have been.
It is to some extent. If earned better or had better career growth I’d just take the L and move on. But I’m not getting either fun memories or the pay and growth, which makes me question what I’m doing with my life. I have friends in NYC with maybe half my salary and they’re all extremely happy
The grass always looks greener on the other side.
Silly post
Yeah, most Googlers are emotionally 14 years old. Too much studying no time for growing up.
TC or GTFO
Why is it dull
Move to SF? Life anywhere except NY would be boring for you.
Move to Meta is the correct advice
I used to live in Sunnyvale - boring AF! Move to SF or take the leap and move to NYC when you can.
"Meta career growth" 🤣 PSC ain't career growth mate. Most fast growers are stuck here cause what they learn isn't transferable and all they do about it is complain on blind... Seems you'd fit right in

Be extremely grateful you have a job and use the resources it brings you to make your life better.
