Cleared phone interview and scheduled onsite. Next day Onsite coordinator called me and cancelled onsite interview when i said “no” to join on H1B receipt. Anyone else faced same issue with LinkedIn or other companies? TC- 150k/3 yrs
LinkedIn got the best immigration lawyers... Join on receipt...
Ooph. H1B game is tough
Recently a friend was asked by his team at Microsoft to start on receipt or forgo his offer in Redmond. Seems to me like a pattern from the parent company seeping in.
There's just too much that can go wrong for these companies while waiting for receipts or approvals. It's too risky. They're taking a leap of faith hiring an h1, h1b holders more often than not expect the world along with their offers and it's not always possible in this market where IT unemployment is under 1%
Receipt takes too long now. Give 2 week notice in FedEx tracking # ( when case file arrives at USCIS)
Its not just LinkedIn but a majority of companies now will rescind offer if one cannot join on receipt.
Yep. Same thing happened to with linkedin. Have to cancel onsite. Same with Google also, have to cancel onsite. Uber , amazon, Fb ready to wait until h1b transfer. Uber onsite is next month. Amzn and fb onsites done in November and clered both. Accepted FB

That's hopeless, it takes 1 year to get h1 approval without premium processing
We move fast and cannot rely on people who “possibly going to join” 3mo later or even worse. Take the risk or come back and interview when premium processing is resumed if you wanna be 100% safe.
I joined on receipt and it was all fine. BAL global is pretty good at handling things.
I heard the same story regarding LinkedIn from a friend, try interviewing in Twilio, they are pretty flexible for waiting.
