Got an offer from LinkedIn for Staff role. I had interviewed for Sr. Staff but it seems interview feedback was not strong enough for the Sr Staff role so offered me Staff instead. I have other strong offers for real Staff level roles at other companies so I had to decline. YOE: 12 Offer: 240K/15% bonus/850K RSU/50K signon #engineering #software #swe #linkedin
That’s a very solid staff offer. I used to make 280k tc as staff few years ago
Could only be justified if it's after cliff? Even then, it's crazy low.
Few years is the important part. 275k is tac/average for senior swe.
Curious about your level at Amazon.
My guess is L6
L6 at Amazon is at most staff at LinkedIn. Staff at LinkedIn overlaps with staff at other places.
Location?
What Apple? That's just one. What others
so good. way better than some existing employees
I’ve interviewed several Amazon L6s recently and unfortunately they don’t come close to sr staff roles at LinkedIn. And on top of that, Seattle comp bands for us are lower than Bay Area comp bands so beating other offers is hard when they pay the same for remote roles
Is LinkedIn offer remote?
Sure, but LinkedIn levels do appear inflated. Senior engineer is 3 years of experience. Staff role is 6-7 years of experience. This is much lower than that of other companies like Google, Facebook.
Congrats op. How did your prep for the interview?
Congrats!! Is this a staff offer?
Congrats again!! Don't know much about sr staff as it is way above my level😅 Think the bonus should be 20%? 15% is for staff
Hey OP, would you mind sharing which offer did you take and what the range
can you use one thread to list all the offers you have so that it is easier to compare? Btw, congratulations.
+1
Hehe. Thanks, will do it tomorrow.
