Linked has a lot of extra fat. But won’t do layoffs
When will LinkedIn start hiring?
We were told that hiring is still going on for critical roles. The earliest I can see hiring starting again is next quarter, when budgets and headcount are finalized.
Looking forward to it
No one knows. Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic, but could happen anyways.
No layoffs currently or in the foreseeable future per our CEO
You mean your org manager* Satya said nothing LinkedIn ceo position needs renaming
I think we are safe. We are not even revoking intern offers.
Because interns only stay until July/August. Leadership say they won't consider layoff until after they see financial numbers in July.
Leadership has thus far committed to no layoffs remainder of current fiscal year (through June 30).
LinkedIn promised no layoffs till the end of the year at the all hands. Then it was immediately clarified that the year ends on June 30. No hiring, no promotions, no team transfers, modified review mechanism. It doesn't look good ...
If it also means no PIP, that’s amazing. Engineers can slack a bit without fear of PIP!
What is the modified review mechanism?
It all depends on how the market is trending. If we see up trend in our metrics, there may not be any layoffs
Aren’t we?
Do you mean we are already seeing up trend in metrics ?
I heard LinkedIn user engagement is super high ..talent would see a drop due to hiring freeze and ads would increase eventually in upcoming quarters ...
LinkedIn is MSFT now right? I am assuming they are fine.
