Women, help me understand why this is inspirational
Considering a Staff+ SWE role at LinkedIn’s core infrastructure group. How does the culture/WLB compare to similar shops (Meta, Twitter, Uber). Looking for broad strokes. YoE:10 TC:480k
Depends on the team. The infra group I was on was 🤮 with a clueless manager and on-call > once a month. Had a senior engineer leave after 1 month.
Slightly more intense than the typical product team but people are also smarter and more motivated. It compares well with other companies from what I have gathered.
Overall LinkedIn WLB is hit starting this year due to economic conditions! Execs expect you to deliver impact faster
The infra itself is quite poor, though this obviously varies a bit based on project. WLB and comp were both very good, though flagship was always a bit busier than foundation.
