I am a 2021 university grad and have these two offers currently. I am confused whether to join LinkedIn as SDE or Microsoft Research as Research Fellow which is a 1-2 yrs. position. Compensation: Both nearly same Location: Bangalore I am just thinking from the future prospects point of view. Currently, not very sure of my interests but planning for higher education (MS) after 1-2 yrs. most probably. Kindly provide your valuable suggestions and feedbacks. Really need help asap. #Research #SoftwareDevelopment #Masters

14lacs base, 2lacs joining bonus + Performance based bonus Stocks component: Linkedin - Will be getting msft stocks of around 24lacs vested for 4yrs and no stocks in MSR To be honest, compensation is not a criteria. So, please don't consider it much right now but want to have a high paying job in future for sure.
Linkedin is better. MSFT research will lead to max 1 paper which won’t likely beat the learning you’d have at an industrial role at LinkedIn. Unless your goal is PhD, skip msft research. It also depends on the group at msft research. Dm me if you want more help
I’d suggest MSR. It mainly depends on the group you are joining there. If you stay for 2 years, you’ll have NIPS/CVPR level papers and very good LOR, which can help you get funded MS in US (UIUC/Berkeley/Stanford/CMU etc)
Research and software engineering are very different roles. Which do you prefer?
Bero research is no prod work. Go for software engineering

Sorry but I didn't get it, any questions?
I assume you are new to blind, as per blind rules you must post your compensation, current company and compensation of offers you have got. Without that you wont recieve much help.
