Linkedin Staff Interview

Hi, I have an interview coming up for Linkedin Staff Level. Looking for tips on how the process is?

NVIDIA Bsno45 Oct 26, 2023

Long and pretty hard. I had like 5 rounds with them and got rejected.

God damn, what happened? I mean I know what’s been happening but why a sudden sharp drop? Must have been something new.

layoff

LinkedIn lostpipguy Oct 26, 2023

I got laid off last week I can provide some perspective: - infra is more or less dysfunctional with lots of politics. None especially at Dir+ knows what to do. - work culture has become very toxic with a lot of attrition. No clear goals but have to execute something. God knows what. - no clear communication on expectations. I got thrown under the bus for mainly mgmt fault. - stack ranking and mandatory IG/PIP of 10% started sometime early this year. Not sure how long they ll go with this. Mgmt will repeatedly deny this. But it was there the last 2 annual reviews. They were in denial a week before the layoffs lol Regards to interview prep: - coding is more or less LC mediums. - I think there are two systems designs. Make sure to nail them. - Behavioral have examples of how you lead projects, worked with multiple teams, conflict resolution etc ready. - phone screen they have clubbed leadership + coding in one round but should be the same expectation as first 3. - staff Eng is very wide band in LinkedIn and pay is typically split into 4 quartiles I think. Check where you are positioned post interview Pay depends on interview performance. Levels.fyi is very accurate Pay is very good btw.
