Got an offer this week and I believe the level is IC4/5, unsure. Currently a manager and want to go back to being an IC and my employer just did layoffs (my team survived). LinkedIn offer Base: 200k Bonus: 15% RSUs: 280k/4 years Sign-on: 30k Current TC Base: 180k Bonus: 15% (will probbaly be lower in light of layoffs) RSUs: š„ (my award halved due to stock price drop) Iāve read here that LinkedIn culture has changed, but also that itās team dependent. Every person Iāve talked to in the org was honest about that and said that despite the changes they still felt okay. I think the LI offer is better because Iāll have less responsibilities and can go back to being an IC. Current role is just not stimulating me, we also did layoffs, and Iāve had constant reorgs. On my fourth manager in less than a year. Worth it to leave? YOE: 5
Looks like a Sr SWE offerā¦which role did you interview for? Sr or Staff?
Yeah, Sr role, non eng (job function is technical, closest to analytics).
Ahh ok Sr at Li is L4 at Meta or G but thats for tech. I have no idea about non-tech but this does seem like a good offer for non-tech Sr.
YOE ??
280K for 4 years ?
Yeah, 70k/year, so TC 300k/year
Take it and don't look back
LI eng is not a happy place atm, but it may still be an improvement over your current situation.
Expected layoffs in 2024?
Leadership says no, but there was no warning last time either. So, what they say isnāt worth much to me. Last round was the final straw for a lot of people. Many people have left in the last month or so and more will leave after the holidays or 2/15 vest date.
....
not sure about non tech role. linkedin engg is toxic. resigned earlier.
Since when does non-Eng get the same amount as eng? Congrats on the offer
Congrats, location?
Remote/WFH
K... So what's the question?
