Hey all, I accepted an internship offer from Linkedin in Sunnyvale already, but now I also have a competing offer from Snapchat in Santa Monica. This will be my last internship in college so I would like to work at the place with the higher chance of getting a return offer - especially in the current market. Other important factors for me are the WLB, location and the ability to work on impactful projects. Any advice to help me with my decision of where to start my SWE career would be greatly appreciated 🙏 #tech #linkedin #snap #internship
Snap is probably harder to get a return offer but both have become pip factories
heard snap culture is dog 💩
what about it specifically makes it bad?
Snapchat. Do you really want to live in the bay area? Santa monica is wayyy better
yeah this is what I was thinking I would definitely prefer Santa Monica compared to sunnyvale which seems like a more boring location.
Doesn’t snap have a Bay Area office?
Snap and Santa Monica. I think that if you got that internship, you can get a job.
Snap. It’s way less bureaucratic than Amazon and a better place to work/have impact.
Snap barely gives return offers any more, so don’t count on that
Did a Snap internship and it was super fun, + got a return offer
