Please vote "I don't know" if your information is from the internet or from friend of a friend. Mostly considering entry-level --> staff promotion timeline, as higher levels are too low in sample size. Added a lot of startups/unicorns like Scale AI because some of them have a reputation of promoting in as little as 6 months. Serious question, what’s the point of fast promotion if you’re going to be downleveled at another T1 company anyway? TC > title inflation
This is a great question. Won’t most other T1s allow you to interview at the equivalent level or higher? Then it’s on you to prove you are at the level during the interview process.
IMO, generally faang levels are pretty respectable throughout industry, you can reasonably request equivalent leveling while applying for different companies based off yoe or your leveling in that case. Recruiters will respect your senior ranking from meta and there’s generally a level of baseline competency you can expect. If you’re a senior at a random startup then it’s a bit harder to justify since there are fewer data points
How fast is promotion in meta then? Thanks
Microsoft not even in the list 🤣🤣🤣
Not coinbase
I tagged Coinbase but am wondering if that caused the votes to skew towards Coinbase
Idk all I have to say is not coinbase
Although I voted "I don't know" Anyone who reads blind knows that meta is the clear winner in this. One of my interviewers said he went from E4 to E7 in only 5 years. Was literally shocked at the fact that this is common enough that one of my 4 interviewers would have done it.
Meta larger sample size, while startups like the ones I listed are much smaller, so of course Meta will be mentioned more often. And once the narrative gets going, it will snowball.
That’s insanely rare Less than 1 in 100 But 3 to 5 in 3 is common and 3 to 6 in 5 is doable but most people never make it to 7 no matter when
