I thought this was just a joke on blind. Can someone explain why they always say this??
Revert back with pics or it didn’t happen.
OP - do the needful.
One of my peers was saying the same phrase during our scrum. I could easily spot everyone who reads Blind.
It's common here in India. The other one is As per below mail. ..have your laughs.
Do the needful dude.
It's a cultural thing. Do the needful and get cultured.
At FB I've been doing the needless for years and raking in the moolah
At Facebook, you get fired for doing the needful.
Apparently the "do the needful" is a way of asking someone to get X task accomplished without telling them exactly what needs to be done (the implication being you know your job so you know what needs to be done,)
I think it means "do whatever needs to be done to get the job done".
Yep. I actually think it's a fantastic phrase. It communicates the message in fewer words than would otherwise be necessary.
It’s not a joke. I’ve seen it a lot from coworkers overseas. It’s just a common way many people who learned English as a second language began to express themselves in emails. Probably no one has expressed to them that it sounds odd to native English speakers.
Because blind has many idiots with no sense of humility and understanding. There is a world outside US...respect other culture. P.S. You AMERICANS need to STOP writing CHEERS in your emails. First, I’m not at a bar with you; second, I wasn’t feeling sad to be CHEERed up by you.
Your two statements are hypocritical. You realize that right?
I used to attend a predominantly A-A baptist church in SF where someone would go up near the beginning and read a zillion announcements, then every time he would end with, “Govern yourselves accordingly.” I read “Kindly do the needful” same way.
I guess you are missing the "Please" Indian always say, please do the needful.
He actually said "Kindly do the needful" haha
