Initial phone round with the recruiter followed by a phone coding screen test. An Asian guy of SDE-III position(who had just joined the company 2 months before from the NLP team) took my phone coding round. It was the most shitiest and pathetic experience I came across in all the tech interviews of my life. I was asked Word Search LC Medium question. I was given a matrix alongwith a word 'tomato' and the idea was to check whether the word existed in the matrix or not. I told him it can be solved using DFS approach and wrote all the code for it. Also, executed the code with all the test cases that he presented. I also identified all the corner cases which could be possible. Also, used variable names which were easy to understand. Later, in the evening I got an email from the recruiter...a typical Rejection email. When asked for a specific reason, she mentioned she couldn’t disclose it but it was more related to technical. Probably, he didn't understand my code because he may have memorized his solution of it or he might not have wanted me to pass because of a different race other than his. There should be a system in place to check the interviewers review about any candidate. too much discretion of power in someones hand. Perhaps, I'm lucky I didn't get into such a company where a bunch of stupid Asian interviewers have a racial problem and fail people just because they are not Asians.
It’s good whatever happened ... u would have regretted anyways working with the guy going forward
On Blind, everyone is a genius who aces interviews. If they don't get an offer, it's clearly the interviewer's fault 😂
😂 OP definitely seems to have experienced major butt hurt. Hope he feels better soon. The sense of entitlement is astonishing. Not everyone’s going to fall over themselves to make you an offer...get over yourself, buddy! Jeeeez...
