Tech companies to avoid as a white guy?
Tired of hearing locals sh.t like "I worked hard, went college, got a job, and I still can't afford rent". And then media and politicians blame immigrants for "stealing" their homes and jobs. FYI immigrants worked "harder" and "smarter" and that's why they were able to save up to buy a home. We never went on expensive vacations. Never had overpriced coffee from Starbucks every morning. And never felt the need to "move out" at 18. Lived with parents until we saved up our down payment. Can't blame capitalism and immigrants for working harder and smarter. And stop spreading hate through media. You know who you are. Both democrats and republicans. TC 180
All Americans are immigrants from Europe too.
I’m a local who can easily afford real estate. The duty of the government is to its own citizens before any immigrants. Once citizens are properly cared for, immigrants can and should be accepted.
Pretty sure the duty of the government is to suck up taxes, hand themselves big bonuses, and give a little to the bottom 50% while keeping the top 1% happy so they'll get elected agan
OP sounds like a narcissist. Only his issues are real, only his needs should be met, and the government should only do things that serve him God forbid anyone talk negatively about him. Those people must have a moral failing
As an American, I believe the real problem is lack of regulations on investment properties/airbnbs etc. I dont have problem with hard-working immigrants owning a house but I do have problem with multi-millionaires buying an entire area and converting it to short-term rentals- immigrants or not I dont care.
They really should enact laws that prevent companies/LLCs from buying and renting homes that have residential zoning.
This! And wall street companies. City officials mandating comically expensive requirements from developers. Why does new development require affordable housing? Older ones automatically become affordable. And who is really paying for affordable housing? People buying/renting new homes.
I don't blame immigrants but I do blame capitalism. Neoliberal governments use immigration to import cheaper, more desperate, workforce for the capital class and undercut local labor. They don't do it out of the goodness of their heart.
Please don't perpetuate the us vs. them mentality, you 🤡
I am quite certain that our capitalistic culture existed long before you were born, let alone immigrated to this country. 🇺🇸🦅 Ever hear of the Gilded Age?? The Tx Oil boom? The 80’s Era of Excess??
All the American kids I went to school with racked up a ton of college debt, then spent their 20s traveling and are now broke. They didn’t show up and got replaced. Post is spot on.
In Bay Area and Seattle, they SHOULD in fact be blaming immigrants. Immigrants are literally the cause of the housing price insanity there, you can see this quite plainly with open houses being 100% Indian/Chinese. You can disagree on the solution. But the fact is immigrants ARE the primary cause of house unaffordability in large areas.
So what's wrong with indians and Asians buying up homes? They worked hard for their money. This is capitalism. House goes to the highest bidder
Whether it’s wrong or not depends on your perspective. But I suspect locals will start voting more radical policies soon as the housing crisis deepens. People will only tolerate so much difference between their expectations and reality
