I just received a Facebook e5 offer TC - 160k GBP including sign on bonus. Is that a decent one for London? Anything I should be wary of?
Its a very good offer.
E5?
Yes
I don't think it will make you feel better, but that TC would pretty much put you on the top 1% income of the UK
Well, in Seattle he could get 350k+ at E5, which is almost 500k in the Bay
Obviously he'll L1 after 1 year
Sounds market. For comparison to MPK: Apply ~30% difference in labour market equivalent costs and the USD/GBP exchange rate you get c.$300k TC which is pretty normal for an E5.
If you are a US citizen you have to pay US income tax (federal and the last state you lived in) in addition to EU/UK taxes. If you don’t have a special deal worked out where the company covers this, you’ll be in for a big surprise with the double taxation.
I'm not from US, so I can skip that :)
For US citizens: One can get Foreign Tax credit and Foreign Earned Income Exemption for money earned abroad. Effectively for your abroad income, if you have paid taxes at a higher rate in the foreign country, usually you won’t have any tax liability in US.
80is typically a high base in ldn. 100 is uncommon outside finance
not for top tech E5 my dude
total experience? what is your total experience?
Isn't cost of living in London higher???
I think your offer is bad according to levels.fyi 5/5/2018 -Facebook E5 London $230,000 Salary / stock / bonus 134k / 69k / 27k
Yes, that’s pretty good. Mind break down the components? What’s sign on bonus?
Around 100 + 30 + 30
What is 30, 30; cash bonus and sign on bonus?
