More people should open up and call out management. At Adobe ppl have been silently fired while they tout we dont layoffs. Why do ppl on linkedin say it was great working at a company where they were laid off from. Why are relationships more important than your work.
We should video record everything
"Why do ppl on linkedin say it was great working at a company where they were laid off from." Why not? I was laid off after working for 8 years at company due to cost cutting but that doesn't negate the fact that I did have a good time most of those 8 years. I learnt a lot, I got promoted, I made lot of money, I had plenty of wonderful moments with my team and colleagues that I cherish even now. Shit happens. World changes. Market we were in got quickly commoditized by larger companies. It sucks our company couldn't pivot faster but its hard. It sucks to get laid off but hating someone and negating all 8 years for changing world is absolutely immature and childish behavior. Nothing in life is guaranteed forever. Change is the only thing constant. Just like you, companies take decisions which sometimes work well and sometimes don't. No one in this world has crystal ball to see future to make perfect decisions 100% of time.
I think it's the announcing it to the void of the internet that you appreciate the company that laid you off. calling out specific people and teams you enjoyed is less weird imo.
It’s because if you call out shitty company behavior you are considered difficult to work with and won’t be hired. Most companies want workers who would prioritize their work/company over anything else especially their own personal needs
If as a society we collectively call out shitty company practices, they’ll have no choice but to hire people with histories of putting these companies on blast. Gen z has a good start paving the path
Cause of this managers get away with shitty things. I know this is not an employer market but still if things are not called out things can’t be reformed
Gen Z will be working until they’re 70, they just don’t know it yet
AI + 🤖 will probably initiate serious steps towards UBI so…. no
This. Our silence (or worse, contrived / fake admiration for our employer) only enables tech companies and tech leaders to treat us like garbage, knowing that there’ll be no cost to their behavior.
