Looking to make a change from project to product management, looking for referrals at construction-related companies where my experience is somewhat relevant - interested in Procore, Autodesk, Oracle, Fieldwire, but also open to anything else. My background: 9 YOE, 6 years in project management roles and 3 years as a structural engineer, all at an engineering/consulting/construction company in the energy/chemicals industry, with BS+MS in civil engineering. I've led cross-functional teams on some pretty complex projects for several years. In the energy industry, a project manager's role is to drive execution rather than just monitoring and reporting. No coding or programming experience other than a little bit of independent study. Thanks for any help! Current TC: $165k #procoretech #autodesk #fieldwire #oracle #productmanager #constructiontech

Can you shift into a PM role at current company? Harder for companies to take a chance on a role shift. In your specific case, a referral may not be that impactful. You need to find a role that's close to your experience so the gap between project management and product management is smaller.
