Joined Deloitte from campus in 2015 as Consultant in Cyber Risk, jumped up the ladder and got promoted last week as Manager - role and official announcement yet to be effective in a week or so. Comp expecting 130-140k base salary jump from 107k. Location - Austin, TX Got an offer from Facebook today - Privacy Program Manager - Product, Menlo Park, CA Expect Comp (based on a colleague offer but I am still waiting for mine) - $170 - 180k base + $40k stocks = $210 - 220k TC + additional benefits and perks. Not sure what to do at this point? Any recommendation? Should I reject, accept, weigh more on compensation? Also handling a big account at Deloitte currently but the work life balance is pretty bad. Thanks for your blind advise in advance.
Facebook seems like the logical choice
Is the manager role what’s causing you to think so much? How badly do you want to be a manager and why? If you want to switch later as a manager you will need to get atleast 2-3 years so if you are sure and really want to be a manager then don’t overthink it.
Thanks man. Not more of the manager role but just the feeling of burning bridges especially since I am managing a key account.
I hear you. The thing is if you have a good relationship with your manager, he will understand. You can put in contingencies such as have a good enough time like a month between your offer accept and when you start and assure your manager that there will be a smooth transition and you will even help hire your backfill etc. it’s doable just don’t feel stuck.
Take FB , you know you want it
Thanks man. I am feeling like it too.
Thanks all - decided to go ahead and signed the offer with FB. First switch from consulting to Industry - fingers crossed.
What TC you finally got? I am in the same boat
Does privacy program managers get bonuses? Is it an IC4 or 5 role?
Ask if they could go up, but bruh this sounds like a dream. Take it in any case.
Thanks man. Feels like going I will take fb.
