I have this idea I have been working on and I would love to get a cofounder if you are a capable engineer who believes in the same version of the future as me. It is LLM space so any prior knowledge in ML or senior-level eng from FAANG would be nice! A couple of things I am looking for 1. Live in the Bay Area 2. Willing to quit job and go full time upon funding 3. US citizen or Greencard holder (I am on h1b myself so this is also a must to establish us corp together) 4. Not too many responsibilities (like newborn baby) - only because any startup is most likely going under so want to minimize blast radius and stay nimble 5. Senior-level from FAANG level or someone who has deep knowledge in ML Let me know if you fit the description above and are interested in meeting up! Myself: L4 in Google, 5.5 yoe, EECS from uc berkeley. Previously worked at a YC unicorn. Self driven, high risk tolerant, lives in SF #google #amazon #meta #apple #microsoft #openai #databricks #netflix #stripe #snowflake
Oh you are just an L4 at Google honey. You still got a lot to learn based on some of the things you listed under requirements.
^ exact type of person I want to avoid
@OP, that person is sr staff at Airbnb and sounds like someone I would want to work with instead. Just FYI.
This guy wants to find a way out of H1B
Hmm you are asking for cofounder to give up his job but you won’t give up yours due to being on h1b. Is that right?
No I am willing to quit my job and my right to stay in usa if it goes south
Op, you are on h1b, you don’t have right to stay in the US. It’s a temp visa, Rajesh.
Seems to ask a lot from the prospect cofounder but you gave very little information to assess the outlook of your startup. At least give a bit more color on why they should choose you over their job. But good luck to you, OP
I would think that anyone remotely interested or motivated would not be hesitant to click a few buttons to connect in chat. Of course I am not telling anyone to choose the startup over anything. I am not convincing anyone either. Thanks for the wishes!
Can it be a woman?
Yes. Any human being as long as not assholes (lying, backstabbing, deceitful etc)
Indiehacker website is a good place to post this
What’s your leverage though? Do you have a patent? You’re asking for a senior engineer with more leverage (core ML, no visa issues, willing to quit job).
Happy to chat. I'm on another startup now - leading their ML to series B. I might like this if you have a compelling idea that speaks to me after q2-2024. What's your timeline? EECS PhD from top 10 CS school, been part of two startup exits as founding engineer.
Discrimination against young parent? Go fuck yourself
Unfortunately lot of startup founders I've met over the years who were new parents had stay at home wives or wives who aren't in demanding careers. It's pretty sad that family isn't valued as much in our stupid society.

Damnn that newborn baby requirement…
yeah, OP putting that "requirement" in writing is not a good idea. your future HR person would not appreciate it. 🙄
I apologize if I miscommunicated. I am not saying no one with a family. I had a cofounder before a couple years ago who later realized having more time with the newborn baby was better than having any successful startup he would found later. So baby > startup in my mind. So are other responsibilities that the person thinks important. For myself, I prioritize my startup over my family/friends and I don’t mean to force this on others either. I am leaving this judgement upto the potential cofounder
