I am an international student in the US and just graduated with an MS in CS. I have 3 years of work experience as an Business Intelligence engineer and Data Analyst and I also have an offer in hand. But I am looking to have other opportunities to consider. I feel that my experience and education makes me worth more than the current pay being offered. Being an international student, I need to adhere to USCIS timelines regarding finding a job. EXPERIENCE: 2015 - 2018 Business Intelligence Engineer (Technologies l: SAP Business Objects, Power BI, MSBI, SQL, R) 2019 Data Analyst Intern at a Fortune 500 in SF(Technologies: Salesforce, SQL, Python) Certification: Tableau, Six Sigma. Ideally I am looking to be interviewed as soon as possible (due to my visa status). #womenintech #jobopenings #dataanalyst #businessanalyst #businessintelligence
why not look for SWE jobs too? ceiling for data analyst / BI is low
I really like Data Visualization, Business Intelligence and Analytics. I do it in my free time and would love to do it as a professional.
Data visualization is not a pure software engineering thing. Anyone from other discipline can easily learn to do it. Why not work on something that utilizes your MS in CS. Pay and career prospect will be much better.
What offer have you currently got?
Associate Data Analyst - Minneapolis - around 50K
Hmm... Not so good. Keep looking. Software engineer pay is much higher though.
