I'm trying to build a start-up using A.I to recommend the most qualified candidates to the employees for referral. So that they can get referral bonus and I'll take a cut from there. It'll be great to have inputs from friends here working in amazon/google/facebook/linkedin/apple,etc..
Not sure that’s a huge problem to get interviewed by this companies
I had kind of the same idea, but was thinking of engineers doing quick interviews before referring candidates. There is no one better than engineers to know what type of teammates they would like.
One more phone interview? )
You mean like https://www.hidimensional.com
We’ve had a couple people get fired when they were caught essentially running a recruiting “business” as a side gig through LinkedIn. It can be risky for employees to hunt for referrals.
Side note: are you a native Chinese speaker? I've noticed a common "mistake" is to use plural for nouns like feedback. I always wondered if in Chinese it's plural.
My bad ! I'm not a chinese :)
Feedback is a non-countable noun. But there are instances when non-countable nouns can be thought of as countable nouns. Someone pointed out (I think it was Bob Hale on the APS forum) that coffee is a non-countable noun, yet we often treat it as a countable noun. We may order "three coffees" at a restaurant, meaning three cups of coffee. Likewise, we order fries ("chips" to Brits), when we mean an order of fries. When we order "three fries," we don't want just three fries, but three orders of fries. If you're a waitress or waiter and get an order for two hamburgers, three chicken sandwiches, and five orders of fries, you might place the order as "two burgers, three chickens, and five fries." I don't think anyone would think you really wanted three chickens, but rather three chicken sandwiches. If you had a survey and received received 1000 responses, I think you could legitimately refer to them as 1000 instances of feedback or 1000 feedbacks. I don't particularly like "feedbacks," but I can't really fault it, either. If you can't accept "feedbacks," then you should never order "a coffee." Order a cup of coffee, instead.
That's a very limited and niche concept using an expensive technology. The costs will eventually go down but given current population growth and increase in college educated job seekers I only see this as a side business or one person shop. There are only a handful of companies that pay decent money for employee referrals so target market is limited. If people want to actively make money thru the referral system and don't give a crap about who gets hired they can search LI on their own fairly easily. Also, there are hundreds of job boards, employment firms, and headhunters submitting names at the same time. So even if submitted there might not be a payout. How will you get paid? The referral money doesn't go to you so how will you know someone gets hired. Will you charge a fee and if so who pays? Will you use ads? Not trying to destroy your entrepreneurial spirit but would recommend thinking this thru further. Have you talked with HR people and hiring managers to find out what their challenges are? Much better business model selling a solution to a known problem rather than one trying to take advantage of a system loophole that could be closed at anytime.
I see referral is one of the best channels for hiring as it increases employment retention. I think this startup can aim to take a cut (20% similar to uber model) from the referral fee in big tech companies. And do a business model with monthly subscription ($500 per position- a fee monthly) for small tech / mid size compamnies in order for these companies to do a job posting or just refer qualified candidates to their employees (maybe 20-30 good resumes monthly per position). It's just unfortunate for those who don't get bonus due to unforeseen happening. Normally, if you refer qualified candidates, you will get bonus in most tech companies as I know. Maybe the candidate needs to notify this startup that he/she gets job via this platform and get a reward such as a gift card by notifying them. Then employee who gets bonus will share a commission to this platform. Just a piece of thought.
Very creative ... but will have to be always stealth mode
Can you elaborate a bit More, my friend ? Thanks
Well in a way this is unethical ... referrals are meant to be for people you have worked with and you believe in
