https://jobs.disneycareers.com/job/-/-/391/26576574976?cid=14187#entertainment I love this one, but would only consider applying if this is a high enough level to impact company culture. Disney desperately needs a different leadership direction if they’re going to make it. And I’ll admit to really hoping they’ll turn things around. Was just at WDW and it is crippled by staffing issues. Sure people will pay to go, but if they can’t pay people to work, they can’t host guests. TC: $380 YOE: 7
Most parks orgs are old school except for the tech/product orgs for the guest facing web/apps which feel crippled by the old school upper management. So, if you are motivated to fight the upstream political battle to make your orgs life better and improve velocity, you could make a difference.. otherwise you might give up and coast
That role would not have much impact on culture. That would be two levels up at least. The director of strategy for product and merchandising would be in charge of trying to predict which upcoming Disney character will be the most sought-after toy or costume and whether Minnie dolls should have longer eyelashes in France versus Japan.
Can you tell if this role reports into Emily Kaplan?
Looks like you are correct...in the org chart there are currently 2 directors of strategy and transformation and 1 senior manager. Not sure how the responsibilities are divided between them. Could be by region or line of business.
Directors are considered executive level on the parks side so you could have some impact. However they are lowest of the execs and there are many levels above this. Pay will likely not be as high as you’re hoping.
You’d have to be comfortable chopping your Tc in half
