Looking to transition from UX to product

Hi there. I'm a ux designer with 7 yrs of exp total. 7 yrs in designing products. 3-4 yrs of exp in defining strategy & direction. 3 yrs in user research. 1-2 yrs in benchmarking strategy. Would it be easier for me to make the transition with my exp NYC? If so, are there companies out there that are flexible to people with design/ux background? #productmanagement #tech

Why the transition away from UX? Asking on behalf of a recent grad friend since they’re very interested and passionate about UX and on the hunt for a entry level role.

I actually wants to transition to make a transition because not all UXers get to participate in the real product life cycle from conception to launch, as well as the continuous iterations from the analytics/customer feedback. But product managers to make decision whereas UXers couldn't, and not all product managers would have the certain knowledge in all tech, UX, and business. I want to make a transition because I want to influence the culture. That's all.

Gotta cut teeth on some product to start. Look to startups. Got to think way outside the UX shell also, which some ppl can. Some cant. Depends how good they were at UX seems. The best UX ppl dont transitions well. But hell they get paid great. Meetups, accelerators great places to find founders and startups in need.
