If you want a safer return then adjust your retirement date for sooner and it will reallocate to more bonds. The downside is that when stocks go up, you’ll see lower returns. Your fund is down 20% because it’s mostly allocated to stocks and that’s because your risk tolerance is higher due to your age (assuming you chose the appropriate retirement date).
