New grad compensation fell from 180K to around 140K. Do you think it will bounce back in a year? Debating on whether to ask another internship or full time. #microsoft
I never heard MSFT paying 180k for a new grad. Is this real ?
No idea about this year, but last year standard L59 return offer for interns was something like 119k base 120k stock split over 3.5 years 25k signing bonus 10% target annual bonus Works out to be around 170-180k
Still high if you ask me
True maybe it will fall to 120K TC next year.
140k is below 2016 levels. What location?
Redmond, take a look at the recent offers for new grads on levels.fyi
Isn’t it too early for intern return offers? Microsoft lowballs people who weren’t interns hard
Interesting, and I was employed at 60, actually a down-leveling, interview and first offer was 61 until they came back with the budget and hiring freeze excuse then offered 60, 31K USD base then, now barely 17K USD due to Naira/Dollar floating/depreciation with double inflation and cost of living. Location is really a thing!!!
Are those figures for Seattle ?
17k base for Seattle would be below minimum wage lol. It’s for India
Is that 180k base ? Which location?
TC not base

Do you think you will be able to confidently find a high paying job in the next 30 year span?
Full time. There are also things like benefits and 401k matching. 180k for new grad was never real. If you perform you can easily double your pay in five years.
There are no raises or bonuses this year and promotions are super hard to get. The only solution is job hopping, wait that’s hard too.
There are bonuses
