I'm interviewing for a Senior Data Scientist position @ Udemy and wanted to know how the culture is within the company and the team. Any tips , suggestions for the interview process would also be great. Thanks :) Blind Tax : 135k, YOE - 4 #udemy #datascience
The overall culture is great, but it has changed a bit due to the company growing and scaling. That said, people are welcoming, helpful, and nice! WLB is good - it obviously varies from team to team, but many people in UB tend to have a great WLB.
Would you say the culture is flexible in terms of accomodating personal working time preferences? Or is it strict but its like all hands off after 5 or 6 pm? Also, any insight or suggestions for DS interviews? (If you are one)
I would say that it’s pretty accommodating of personal working time preferences, unless your role requires a lot of cross functional communication. If it does, then it would be better to work at least some hours when other teams are. It’s definitely something to bring up to the manager. Sorry, I’m not on the DS team! Good luck on the interviews!
I've heard that WLB is pretty great and that folks are nice. Just beware that on some teams, the "no blame" culture is perverted into a "no accountability" culture.
