T6 at Lyft is equivalent of L7 at Amazon, both in terms of scope and pay. Although not many L7 at Amazon get let go but in Lyft you do.
There is no way lyft T6 has scope of amazon l7. PE on a team like AWS lambda has the scope to take down half of internet.
The level t6 is staff level which is Amazon l7 If you think Amazon will have more scope , it's the nature of businesses... Some companies have more opportunities than others which doesn't mean levels are equivalent
Promo is hard, impact is much greater, expectations are intense and scrutiny in perf review is much greater. It can be hard to meet expectations as a 6 if you haven’t been at that level before. This is considered a staff role.

It’s hard af. You’ll need to get great perf for two cycles in a row. With perf, one person can write something borderline critical of you and tank you overall, so that won’t be easy.
expectations are intense, and to expand, also thoroughly incoherent and unpredictable... concocted and applied by managers who very often would struggle to qualify for role two levels down- almost anywhere else. kinda like child who desires a unicorn for pet and adamantly/incessantly blurts demands ... but child has never seen unicorn and has no idea what one is or how to describe it

I can’t imagine a Google L5 joining us in T4, but that primarily speaks to level deflation at Google.
Can Google g5 get 500k tc? I think lyft t6 can easily get to that level?
