Lyft Vs Dropbox

I have offer for management role from Lyft and Dropbox. The TC is similar around 500K. Dropbox Pro: great people, good team, wlb, food and may be better positioned in COVID times Con: Not as hot as lyft Lyft Pro: Hot company, better tech stack, Higher upside once COVID is contained Con: Less stable in current times (on Visa), Culture seemed cut-throat and less friendly in my limited interaction Any advice?

Lyft because when you tell non tech people where you work they’ll think it’s cooler and you’ll have more clout and prestige. Real talk.

Non tech people will probably think OP is a Lyft driver.

Depends on how your stocks are structured at lyft. This could be a low point before things turn around. What is your risk tolerance? Are you able to handle constant change and a demanding role with uncertainty?

Lyft girls can confirm but there is no upside at Lyft wrt RSUs. Your RSUs remain in $ till the best date when they decide #rsus based on market rate. Weird hybrid of say LinkedIn and Netflix style.

Its true, there is very little upside for new hires. You get a fixed dollar amount each year instead of a fixed number of shares. The total value might fluctuate within the year, but it will reset annually. So if we go 10x, the next year you will get 1/10 as many shares as your first year.

And if it goes down?

I would definitely not describe lyft culture as cut throat.
