I gave my onsite interviews sometime back. It was for a T5 role. Got an email from the recruiter today saying “From the feedback, if we move forward it’ll mostly be T4”. I know why this happened. I actually screwed up one design round big time. I could have done a lot better. But I sort of lost confidence during the first 10 minutes of the interview where I was not able to figure out few things. Can I request the recruiter for one more design round ? Would the recruiter be willing to give a chance ? How does this process work at Lyft ? Thanks. Update : I got an offer for T5. Thanks guys !
Safest bet is to get what you desired from day one as it is unknown territory. I will not even believe HM even if he give me verbal commitment to see if he can promote you to T5 in coming cycles. It is totally an unknown territory.
Thanks ! That makes sense.
Hey Walmart is right I did the same mistake and went onboard with some mgr who said they'd promo me soon. 3 cycles in and nada and still dangling carrots. Happy to give more details in pm.
I've done extra sys design rounds before at Google and Uber. Give it a shot. I'm still waiting for feedback from my L5 Lyft interview 🤞.
Hmm, I interviewed without concern for level and was offered T4. I asked for T5-level comp and went through another round with an EM and was re-leveled at T5. So depending on how badly they need to fill the role, you might be able to swing another round. To be clear, I didn't ask for reconsideration.
How were you able to get T5 eventually? What’s the TC?
@op: what was your offer ?
What is your T5 offer like?

Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
Don't. You'll never be promoted to T5. The process sucks
Yeah promo is always harder
Thanks for the comment ! Is there a possibility that I might get one more design interview upon request ?
