Thoughts? Anyone who lives there have a perspective on what that means for you personally? Poll in terms of outlook for Lyft and Uber. Update: It looks like CA is giving Uber and Lyft the waiver they requested

Why no one cares about the lives lost in Gaza, Israel and busy in their own lives?

Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.

How to be content in life?
Lose lose situation for literally everyone involved other than the law makers who can claim victory. Riders can’t ride. Drivers can’t drive. When it returns it will only support 1/10 of the drivers before and prices will be so high that it’s barely viable. GG California.
IMO the right solution has far less drivers with higher pay and more expensive costs. I know you enjoy your cheap rides but when people are driving all day and living in their car to make ends meet that’s not a good solution.
If they have another option, they would use it. Where will they go?
California needs to drive out some of these jobs anyway, it will make things more affordable for the unemployed.
Oh yeah, Uber drivers are definitely the ones buying up houses
I mean come on. What would your parents do if they lost their job at 55? They’d be fucked but at least Uber and Lyft provide a good source of stopgap income to make rent or a house payment without having to rely on unemployment.
This would affect the food delivery portion also, correct?
They should just give their drivers benefits lol
What about those drivers that did 2 trips per week?
I used to drive for them. There's definitely enough data to segment out benefits in a way that makes sense, like more benefits for those that are substantially committed to working on the platform.
Transportation in Cali is already shitty enough (e.g. there is (almost) no way to go from LAX airport to anywhere in LA with public transport). With no Lyft/Uber it will become a nightmare.
Shows that the academic lefties spend more time reading history and theorizing than connecting with the reality of the people they think they're trying to help. Used to be one myself until I actually started talking to people.
Welcome to the other side!
We need more vocal red pilled people like yourself. It's important to show we are there.
CA showing the country how short-sighted "progressives" can be. This helps no one and is the least inventive solution to a complex problem.
My elderly parents rely on Uber Lyft for unexpected last-minute trips. I told them to get rid of their cars but now looks like the car is still required.
I haven't kept a permanent residence since 2016, but when I did I lived off of these services and continue to do so around the world. It's been wonderful not needing a car for daily errands - especially in a country like the US, which has such poor options for public transportation.
California's infrastructure is already worse than that in many 3rd world countries.
To be fair, an increasing portion of California's population is fresh from the third-world. Almost like geography isn't magic, and places reflect the people that live there
The fact that CA resident think power outage is normal really blows my mind.
Mexican standoff. Calling each other’s bluff. So they can go back to the negotiation table. Only people being hurt are, riders and drivers... just another day in Politics
Uber and Lyft have guns, CA has dumb voters. The standoff will hurt the dumb voters.
California is 23% of ubers gross bookings... and 16% of Lyft’s overall rides... they both have guns
It means I won’t be earning 10x rewards on my CSR.
You gotta cancel that shit bro, when are you gonna be flying??
They added a ton of benefits to make up for the fact that no one is flying. And with the $300 travel credit being able to be used on groceries, it’s still a very solid card. You can always stock up the points for a huge trip once all this shit blows over.
