Lying on your resume

What the worst thing that ever happened to you after lying on your resume. Full disclosure: I’m using this as research to use in a YouTube video.

I was hired for a position that I was not qualified for. Tried too hard to do the job, couldn’t keep up with the expectations and ended up quitting within 4 months. In my absence the company moved forward with the “strategic plans” I had left behind, and this somehow broke their entire business due to critical misinterpretations. They laid off a few employees (sales, marketing and some managers), shutdown the main product, and pivoted the company to work on something else.

I was hired as a CEO and the company stock was growing very well without me lifting a finger. Then Fed raised interest rates and I had to lay off everyone. - Sundar

You should never lie about your position, your company, and when were you employed. Everything else is a fair game.
