I interviewed with a pharmacy company called Capsule and boy it was a doozy. Happy to share experiences, but it was just a terrible experience and product team that wants to believe that their product team is Amazon grade while paying peanuts. I already have an offer so not too concerned, but it was such a negative experience to say the least. When asked for specific feedback, the response was- Unfortunately, we are unable to give specific feedback based on our assessment. As mentioned, you have an incredible background and experience, the team has decided to move forward with other candidates at this time. Like, I spent at least 10+ hours on a case interview, three live case interviews and got grilled by multiple employees to get no feedback. What the actual f. F that. #product #pm #productmanager
For a startup - I would not interview for 8 interviews esp 4 case interviews. If the HM cannot share or tell me their big bets or goals articulately that’s a red flag and would not encourage to proceed further in the process. If people such as head of product don’t show interest and treat you like a cog, don’t join. Shows the leadership values and company culture. Remember you as a candidate also are interviewing the hm, team and leadership on culture, treatment and fit. It works both ways and have a pipeline for yourself to select the one that meets your preferences. Thanks for sharing the feedback to the blind community.
Congratulations on your new role!! I did read a lot of negative reviews on glassdoor as well.
Thanks!
I took the for Capsule because I needed one. I know it’s better to leave so I’m trying
Amen to you brother/sister.
You haven’t shared anything negative except the fact that you were rejected. Seems like you are salty that there rejected you. Please share specifically which part of the experience was negative. Don’t waste everyones time. And yes, most product roles have multiple rounds of interviews, nothing unique to you or to the company.
1. If you could read, you’d see that I specifically laid out that I’m happy to share more information if needed. 2. How often do you do 4 case interviews plus about 4 other interviews with a company? That’s stupid af. 3. What part was negative- a. Hiring manager interrupting me and telling me to stop and move on ‘in the interest of time’ while actually ending the interview 10 minutes earlier than expected. b. When asked HM what are his team’s big goal, response being - ‘he’s working on something big’ but it’s a secret. Wth c. Head of product setting up 45 minutes for a convo, but could barely show any interest. d. Generally an air of superiority where the biggest benefit of working there is ‘it’s a very apolitical’ firm (this was the real answer). And why would I be salty especially since I just landed G?
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
