META Performance Reviews

Looks like META is planning broader layoffs and putting downward pressure on performance reviews. Best friend’s manager told him that he will fight for meets expectations (mid) but it could be meets most (next step down). Anyone in the PSC process know if it’s true that there’s active grade deflation like this article suggests? Et tu META??? https://stocks.apple.com/AnHvwLDm0QCOM42QBwUdtmQ TC: 400k #meta #layoffs

Hubspot kM94Th Jan 19

Sounds like normal Meta in the past few years to me, the same thing happened last year with the first giant layoff

Meta dogenzi Jan 19

Performance calibrations are brutal this year If managers don't label some meets most they will get labeled to meet org distribution requirements People say it is correction from lower pandemic hiring bar

What is the percentage?

10 to 20%

You could TOTALLY get away with a shipload of 4090s. Next Level Offshoring. Guess you could say its the...new Meta :D

Microsoft krnq5v Jan 22

Gpus don't slack off. I got 2 4090s running full tilt on thy regular

Meta RoLKM Jan 19

Of course, TPM cut will spread to other orgs. PMs cut will follow, there are a bunch of PMs coasting and taking vacations all the time.

Expedia Group vbeE48 Jan 22

The hottest TikToks are “a day as a PM at Meta” 🙄

Cuda cores don't slack. My 82 tflop 4090s and their workflows run like clockwork. How the hell did nvidia go from 34 tflop 3090s to 82 tflop 4090s?

Apple gargleball Jan 23

And what exactly are your workflows?

This is clear that all big tech are going to put a lot of money in AI. They need money to do it. Easy budget win is to get rid of all people involved in the projects that do not bring profit or they are not the future. Core business teams are safe but the rest…

Stop making up narratives and repeating what some random junior manager probably said. 1. The recommended rating distribution is known and hasn't changed since last year. 2. The shared article is completely unrelated - it's not broad and there is no "deflation". They just decided in IG to eliminate the TPM function and replace them with PMs (a different role). Meta is hiring (slowly), it runs hard performance cycles (like always) and it executes on localized org efficiency optimizations (elevated vs normal, but nothing crazy)

Meta jsDB588 Jan 22

Lmao bootlicker are you even attending calibrations? They suck this year.
