CMU > Columbia. MSCS >>> MIS
Okay so Columbia would be better for him in that sense I guess!!! π
MSIS at CMU is way different than MSCS. Don't do it. It's a shit program compared to the actual ECE and CS departments. Columbia seems like the best bet.
^^
Thank you so much!!! I'll tell him that!!!
Colombia!
Thank you for your input!!!
Columbia for sure
I would've said cmu but his cmu program isn't cs so prestige droppes a lot
Thanks a lot!!! It looks like Columbia will provide him better opportunity
Don't care about reputation of colleges. Rather care about city. It'll teach him more about life than courses can. If money is not a concern, new York is should be.
It's an MS, not undergrad. Normally would agree but not in this case.
Never used any of what I learned in MS. After a couple of years of work experience, it's only leetcode and work questions anyway. I don't see any value in MS from a better college than a better city.
Any $$ from any of the schools? Thatβs a pretty big factor.
It's there but very negligible!!!
Then Iβd say Columbia, USC, CMU, NYU in that order. CMU is a good school but that specific degree is crappy. Having the MS in CS gives a lot more credibility and exit opportunities.
