I am looking for advice on career switch. I am a data scientist with 9 YOE after PhD from top ten engg school. Getting bored of the work at my current company. I have found new passion / interest in economics/finance topics that i think will get me out of stagnation. Additionally I am looking for career growth as well a TC increase. At present I am thinking of getting a MS Finance from a top university or get an MBA with Finance focus to switch to the finance world and apply ML/Data Science to Finance. Is technical depth better to get me into top Quant firms like Citadel ? TC: 210k #DataScience #Finance #quant

Why Pronouns shit captured US ? I don’t see this anywhere else
I know of exactly 1 quant who comes from an MBA background (and he was brilliant so it doesn't really matter what background he had, he would have been successful either way). So I'd say the MS in finance is the far better route.
Read the Incerto collection from Nassim Taleb.
Neither is useful for quant. You should be able to get into qr with your phd alone if you had good/relevant publications
If you are PhD just start recruiting directly
