MSFT Layoffs

Is it true that there’s a huge layoff coming up for MSFT in April? #layoffs #msft

Look at received date. Those people are already laid off and have 2 months till the last day.

Snap B8ABLOCKER Mar 21, 2023

Omg again with this shit Received date is notification and start date is when people are removed from payroll That being said, there are more waves coming still from the first announcement and I would anticipate another announcement in April/May and possibly another in July after the new fiscal starts

Meta vWkX63 Mar 21, 2023

Yes MSFT is planning a fresh round. Est 5-20k impacted

Microsoft cordon Mar 21, 2023

#remind me in 3 months

Microsoft fzie46 Mar 21, 2023

Can I volunteer for the layoff? Why doesnt Microsoft have that option?

Microsoft NoFire2Day Mar 21, 2023

No, not possible. You can't volunteer and you can't offer to take someone else's place.

Microsoft Althalus Mar 21, 2023

And there is no official announcement of it going past Q3. They say the 10K of layoffs will happen throughout Q3. Nothing about anything beyond that. There are also rumors that they are doing what they can with restructuring, Re-ORG, and other avenues to not actually reach that 10K mark. They are trying to make the impact as minimal as possible. It is also true that they can do what Amazon did and announce more layoffs in Q4, but with Q3 getting close they wont. They dont want to impact the Quarterly Earnings that show the savings and profits they have gotten from the layoffs as well as surging in stock price and earnings after the layoffs. They want to showcase how much more efficient they are being. What to expect for those not laid off? Expect the WLB to not be as good as it is now and LT will want better reporting on updates, progress, and impact. They have to demonstrate the value of the headcount they have now and why they need it or need more.

This is the most logical post on layoffs @ Microsoft

Adobe checker01 Apr 2, 2023

What do you think is the criteria that would trigger another round of massive layoffs?

BlackRock NSaj21 Mar 21, 2023

So you heard the news too ?

Amazon RJPC57 Mar 22, 2023

I have heard from my roommate that Microsoft is planning to layoff around 10-25k by the end of this month

Microsoft wvvo02 Mar 22, 2023

Aaaaand, who is your roommate and how credible a source are they?

Snap B8ABLOCKER Mar 22, 2023

Lol I’ll take the bait - No one poor enough to need a roommate would have real insight into this level of planning

Microsoft MethWalter Mar 22, 2023

Forget Apr that's too far. it's happening like tommorow...watch out

Amazon pLAe58 Mar 22, 2023

Microsoft had 2nd wave already

Amazon RJPC57 Mar 22, 2023
